DS in 5 and in an all day pre-k program offered by the school district. He just turned 5 in November so missed the cutoff for Kinder. He got one of two scholarship slots to the program that usually costs 125 a week, so obviously the school knows that we are lower income. (I am a single mom, work full time from home doing call center support and go to school.)
Well today he came home with 4 BRAND NEW pairs of pants and a note from the school social worker that said "Just thought these might help out."
He is clean everyday, clothes are clean BUT he hit a growth spurt about a month back and a couple pairs of his pants are getting short. He's getting several new pairs for Christmas from my mom and sister in law so I figured it would be ok till then.
Now, I DO appreciate the pants and will be sending a thank you note in. But I kinda feel like she was saying I can't clothe my kid. Am I being too sensitive? How would you feel?
this.

It came from a good place. Be grateful people care about your son.
Oh I will. He is sleeping in the soft fuzzy camo pants right now. And I am writing a thank you letter to send in on Monday. It really was a sweet gesture. I guess I just had a moment lol

Swallow your pride & accept it graciously
