What is the longest you have had ( or heard of) a child in a booster?

My son turns 10 in 4 months and I dont feel he is ready to be out of a booster.

I know that :) I was just letting you know why. He is a tiny little guy.

Well, it doesn't really matter what we think....you gotta do what YOU think is best for your kids

Quoting Anonymous:

My son isnt quite that tall. I dont know his height but he is 54 pounds.

I'm 5'1 and my 7 year old is almost as tall as me. I can't imagine him 10 and in a booster seat.

Quoting Anonymous:

Why?

That's a bit crazy.....

Age and Weight

Legislation varies slightly from state to state (see Resources to view criteria for your state). A booster seat is required for all children who are at least 4 years old but less than 8 years old, if the child weighs more than 40 pounds but less than 80 pounds and who measures less than 4 feet 9 inches (57 inches) tall.

Just curious.why does your 10 year old only weigh 54 pounds? My 5 year old weighs that much and he is a bean pole.

I just recently took my 10yo out of a booster about a month ago (one month after his 10th birthday). He is so small for his age, so I didn't feel comfortable taking him out of it until then. My 7yo son is the same exact height and weight as my 10yo and will be coming out of his on his when he turns 8.

My 8 year old is in a backless booster. He'll stay there until the law says he can get out of it. I'm not a crazy car seat lady, but I do the best I can with what I have.

Is that one or the other? If a child weighs 45-50 pounds at age 8 they would be required to be in a booster?

Quoting queencreekmom:

In Az the law just changed. You must stay in a booster until you are 8 years old or 70 lbs.
