My 9 1/2 yo ds is still in a booster
My son turns 10 in 4 months and I dont feel he is ready to be out of a booster.
What a coincidence. So is my 13 yr old.
Can't be too safe!
Quoting gcstar42:I think it varies by state. I live in Texas and unfortunately kids only have to ride in a booster until 8 yrs old regaurdless of height or weight. I really hope this law changes soon. My oldest is 6 1/2 and he will be riding longer than that I am sure. He will stay in the booster until the seat belt fits him just right without help from the booster.

What is the least they can weigh and be out of a booster? Anyone know?
How tall is he? What are your state requirements?
Our state has no weight law, it is based on age. They must be in a booster until they are 8.
Other states say until 8 years or 70 lbs, some say 5 years and 50 pounds, etc.
Personally I'll probably leave my boys in theirs until they can sit with a regular seat belt with no issue. I'm short and seat belts are sometimes an issue for even me. I'd rather be safe than sorry, but I think it depends on a large number of things including your car and how your child fits into it.
I am glad someone in Texas agrees with me! Lol actually I have changed quite a few peoples views on carseat safety and made them more aware of how the laws are behind the recommendations so I am no longer completely alone lol. What part of Texas are you in? Do you think this warm weather is as ridiculous as I do? Lol I am ready for it to cool down!

You made a post about a 10 year old in a carseat and didn't think you'd get sarcastic and silly comments?
Quoting Anonymous:

my son is 8 and just over 40 pounds...so he is still in a booster....he doesn't want to be anymore...but I don't know if I should let him be without.
My oldest DD just moved out of her backless booster a year ago. She was 11yrs 11mos old at the time. She didn't pass the 5-Step Test until then.
