my dog bit at my dd.....edit

and she deserved it!

she will be four in a few weeks and we have a cat and a dog. now we have told her to be nice to Lucy our dog. She was previously abused and i knew she might be skittish. my doggie has great and snipped at her before but that is because she will try to hug her in the face and what not. tonight my dd was using the dog as a footrest. the dog is small, 13 pounds and she has to protect herself in some way. my dd knew what she did was bad and harbors no ill will towards the doggie

no i will not give my dog away. DD has to learn how to treat them properly

um that requires a PARENT teaching her how to treat the animals properly! Not the dog biting her. grow up and teach your child with timeouts when she is horrible to the dog.

Nice. As much as I love my dog if he bit my child he'd be gone. Never an excuse for that.

she has been taught from day one what is acceptable. she gets a stern talking to (she is very vocal and very bright for her age) she knew what she did was wrong hence why she started crying when i called her to me (i was doing dishes. the dog was sleeping peacefully) she decided to pester the poor thing knowing it would not be happy

maybe by me not getting mad at my dog she will learn not to do that again (my dd)

It's okay if you abuse animals, we'll just get rid of it.  You don't have to follow the rules.

i love my dd but she needs to learn she cant hurt animals or treat them badly. she is still learning but she knew what she did was wrong

I always told my kids after so many times of them not listening that one day the dog will bite them & it will be their fault.

Thankfully my kids learned & I didn't have to worry about it.
