If you've had it once you can't get it again.

You may get chicken pox even with the vaccine but it will be a mild case. Once you get chicken pox you can't get them again but you can get shingles which stays dormant in your nerves. Since the vaccine there are way fewer cases of chicken pox.

This is no longer true. My cousin has had them twice and neither case was mild. There's now more than one strain of the Chicken pox, or at least that was the explanation her doctor gave her.

I would like to talk to that doc. Once you have chicken pox, you no longer get pox again. You get shingles.

Yes, you can get it but it's usually a very mild case.

I've had it four times. My son was vaccinated and had it once.

You can get the chicken pox more than once. I had them 1x as a child and twice as an adult. Just because you are vaccinated doesn't mean that you cannot get what you are vaccinated from. It's less likely but not impossible.

A friend of dh had chicken pox and shingles at the same time a few weeks ago. I didn't even know it was possible.

Yes, you can.  There are always exceptions.
