I, personally, don't see anything wrong with it as long as the kid has a nice place to sleep. When my dad was in town for two days, I let him have dd's room and she slept with us. My dad offered to sleep on the sofa, but he goes to bed early, and I didn't want to have to tip-toe around the house. Dd didn't care, she sleeps with me half the time anyway.

Yes of course its out of respect, my kids can sleep on the couch or with me so my dad or brother can have a bed. Its polite

Did it twice and won't do it again.

We have a hide-a-bed...or there are always hotels nearby.

My son gives up his bed when my mom comes to visit but that means he gets to make a bed on the floor and be in the same room as her and he loves that. Lol

My dad slept on the couch when he came over. We have a 1 bdrm apartment and my sons room is pretty much his crib.....I doubt my dad could fit in that, lol.

We offered to let him have our bed, but he declined and took the couch. Its actually a really comfy couch, I nap on it often.
