Babies are not people, they do not need respect

This was regarding a post on Facebook from Elizabeth Pantley (author of No-Cry Sleep Solution.) Picture is below.
"You people are reterded. We may be animals, but our sentient minds separate us. If your baby is crying, you first check on them to make sure nothing is actually wrong. Then, when sure nothing is wrong, you let them wear themselves out. No babies are not people, nor do they need respect. Reapect is earned through life experience. Babies need care and attention. They have to be taught how to live througb the course of their lives. CIO is how you deal with excessive and unwarranted crying, such as a toddlers temper tantrum."
Thoughts about the part in bold? Agree? Disagree?
This was the post she made:
Oh and IMO babies are people they are just little people. They deserve respect too!
this is ridiculous, they are so people and deserve to be treted respectfully
The part in the middle is NOT part of the facebook post you're talking about right? It's your(OP) opinion on the post?
We should respect all living things. From babies to trees. Just because they can't find respect in the dictionary doesn't mean we can treat them like garbage.
Those are pretty lame. There are right and wrong ways to do cio, and an age where it becomes appropriate. It doesn't work for every child or parent and each parent has to do what they feel will work best. I did a modified cio with my oldest, it only took a week and we were done with it, she learned. We have a great bond that was not in the least damaged.
