Okay seriously though, my SO is on deployment and I always open the mail he gets here at the house. Today he got a letter from Kay Jewlers. He applied for credit through them. I heard through the grapevine that he is thinking of proposing when he gets home. So do I tell him about the letter? I don't want him to be upset that I know something that he didn't want me to know.

I wouldn't. I'd let him surprise me. Maybe he's going to purpose in a romantic way, and you wouldn't want to kill the mood by letting him know you know...... and besides, if he doesn't purpose, and bought someone else jewlery you can call him out on it..... i've watched too many lifetime movies. lol.
