Technically, a child is anyone under the age of 18. If they are sexting photos of themselves, they are distributing child pornography. If they recieve texts of a bf or gf under the age- it is possession of child pornography and yes, DA's prosecute them and should, IMO because once that photo is on your phone anything could happen- my phone has been stolen once, same with DH's... and you never know what the other person will do with it.

The laws are all fucked up. That's one of the reasons so many pedophiles get away with it.

You want to know what will really make you feel like shit? When some sicko sends you a picture of a man and a woman fucking a baby with their faces clearly visible and the cops refuse to look at it because if you give it to them, then you're guilty of possessing and distributing child pornography. Even the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children wouldn't help me out with that one.

The laws are so fucked and stupid that they make catching the actual bad guys difficult but oh, we can ruin the lives of a bunch of stupid teenagers for daring to take pictures of their own bodies. It's bullshit.

Easy..if they posess pictures of a minor in a sexually explicit manner, they can be charged.  It doesn't make any sense to me that we allow teens to have sex, but not take and send sexy pics but that's how it is.

The woman in the avi pic is not me, she is my inspiration.  I am a wife, a mother, and an aspiring trainer and nutritionist. I love seeing people get fit and healthy to lead the lives they are meant to live.

So you think it's okay for children to distribute naked pictures of themselves?

It's sadly possible.  A DA somewhere was planning on doing it to two fourteen year old girls who sent topless pics of themselves to their boyfriends.  And he was also going after the boyfriends for possessing child porn and anyone else who happened to get the pics.

All I got out of the story I read on it was that the DA was gung ho on making an example out of all of them with no regard for how he would completely ruin their lives.

They being charged for possessing pictures of THEMSELVES. And becoming registered sex offenders for it.

Technically, if teens have sex they can be charged with statutory rape in most states...

No but I also don't feel they should be charged arrested and labeled
A sex offender for making a stupid teenaged mistake.
