If I ever divorce

Posted by Anonymous   + Show Post
I plan on giving my husband primary custody or our children. He will have them 6 months and I will have them 6 months out of the year.

I have tried and still am. I am in counseling which doesn't seem to be working. I also take parenting classes.

At least you recognize it, but why not aspire to be a better parent as well?

He is a better patent then I am.

If he's a good dad, I don't see why not. I never understood why the kids HAVE to be with the mother if the dad is a good parent too.

Sometimes we have different parenting strengths. Try finding yours and embracing them. Don't worry about being super mom. Good luck. Hope there is never a need for divorce and you and your husband raise awesome kids.

I would do joint custody. My dh is a fantastic father. I would never take his kids away. We would probably do 1/2 week w/ him, 1/2 w/ me. I work 12s, 3 days a week. So, on the days I work... I'd let him have the kids. I would make sure we lived close enough that they wouldn't switch schools or anything.
We've already discussed this w/ each other.

I'm no custody expert but isn't that joint custody?

"Primary custody" means he will get them more than you. He will also have ALL SAY about raising them....You would not get them 50/50

HE will be in charge of their entire well-being. If your willing to give up being a parent...Then yeah, maybe they should go to him.  Hope he knows this.

Guess your getting a divorce in the near future eh???

He will have all say in raising them, so yes he will be the primary parent the only difference is he will have them 6 months and I will have them 6 months.
