How do you buy your dh/so a gift? This is an issue that came up in a conversation with my dh. He made a stink about how he has to pay for his own gift. So i started to use money or gift cards i received and this meant the amount i spent was less. He then complained that i get him crap compared to what he spent on me so he stopped getting me anything.

I think that's complete bull.  When you get married (unless you have a prenup), your assets and skills are combined to make the home.  DH and I share money (though I'm a sahm), and when I brought this same subject up to him, he told me not to worry about it, that I "earn my keep" by taking care of the baby and the house (which, by the way, isn't spotless, but it's clean), and that he didn't care.  I think your dh has a very immature mindset in this instance.

It sounds like you married a petty man. I'm sorry. :/

It is our money, not his. That is how I buy his gifts.

That's not how it works.
It is our money not mine and not his, it's ours. This has never been an issue for us.

All the money is our money, it isn't his. He values that I stay home with the kids. I just buy a present for him.

This! He doesn't deserve anything after a comment like that
