Has anyone nursed their child while in labor?
I am 39 weeks. My current youngest is 16 months. He still nurses to go to sleep, sometimes at night, and sometimes during the day.
I've been having contractions off and on. When he nurses, it really brings them on. For those who still nurse their little ones while pregnant, and tandum nurse later... Did you nurse while in labor. Was it hard, or bearable? I was just wondering.

Well, nipple stimulation can bring on contractions, so that's why you're feeling them when you nurse. I've never tandem nursed, but I would think it might ease the pain just a bit, since nursing releases endorphines in the brain.

Well I know nipple stimulation helps jump start labor. Just curious what are you going to do while you're in the hospital? Or are you having a home birth?

Good question. I know a lot of women who tandem nurse but I've never even thought to ask if they nursed during labor.
