To see how many people just DONT KNOW how chicken pox and shingles work!

So im going to help :)

http://www0.health.nsw.gov.au/factsheets/infectious/chickenpox.html

http://www.nfid.org/publications/factsheets/varicellaadult.pdf

http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/diseases/facts/herpeszoster.htm

Now, Please pay attention. this is the important part.

IF YOU DID NOT HAVE CHICKEN POX AS A CHILD...

that doesn't mean ANYTHING.

because if you get chicken pox as an ADULT,

that can cause shingles.

Notice, how the EXPERTS tell us, that shingles can occur in adults after having chicken pox. now, yes, you USUALLY get chicken pox as a child.

but that does NOT exclude adults with the chicken pox.

so please, educate yourself.

(I dont know why its not clicky! CM hasnt been making links clicky for a while. If there is some weird way to to do it then please share. but its not my fault its not clicky, because it should be)

No one ever said she wouldn't get Chicken pox. She said she never had them, and is not immune either. You then said that she would get shingles. Which is incorrect. She cannot get shingles if she has not had the chicken pox, or the vaccine.

I tried explaining that to you, and I will say it again:
if an adult who has NEVER had the chicken pox (nor the vaccine) is exposed to SHINGLES, they would get chicken pox FIRST - and POSSIBLY shingles later (in life) - just as anyone else. They would NOT however, get shingles from being exposed to shingles.

Well I don't think I can copy and paste from another thread - but originally you said that in 10 years when she has shingles, she'll wish she didn't think that way (or something to that effect). She then pointed out that she would have to get chicken pox first, and you told her she was wrong, that she would get shingles.

Eh. Whatever. I don't care. I was just trying to point out that flaw in whoever's thinking.
