Christmas is Depressing

Right after my 18th birthday was Christmas. My half sister called me telling me her Mom said she didn't want her for Christmas only her sister. So I asked my bm to pick her up so she could spend Christmas with me. The night before Christmas eve my bm says it is to far to pick her up. I talk to her that night and apologize for my bm. The next day (Christmas Eve) my bm's bf told me my sister called. I did not call her back. The next day I open all my Christmas presents at my Nana's house and go into the kitchen to call my sister. My Nana tells me to wait and hang up the phone. My Nana, bm, bm's bf all stood there. Nana & bm's bf start crying. I am continuaslly asking wtf is the matter? My bm blurts out the worst words I will ever have to hear, "just tell her already! Your sister killed herself last night!" I began to run to my bedroom and fell to the ground crying & screaming. My bm's bf held me as I punched everything that came into reach of me. As much as I try to make Christmas good for my kiddos, I hate dealing with this time of the year over and over again.

My grandfather passed away from cancer on my baby brother's 6th birthday. Dec. 28, 2006...Christmas sucks! I am so sorry that you had to go through that, I really am, I didn't get to see him open presents on his last Christmas, so I know the pain of losing someone special. Hugs!

Sorry for your loss. Nobody should ever feel unwanted or unloved.
Perhaps you can try making some of your traditions about her, celebrating having had her in your life. Maybe make her favorite cookies, and do something for someone in her name every year.
