We are all going to the Salvation Army and going to volunteer and help with Christmas Dinner.   There are other sides to reality.

Good for you for wanting to do it but it will have to opposite affect on your kids if it is forced.

Lots of people volunteer at the holidays. It would make a bigger impact to do it at other times of year.

not around here it wouldn't...you wouldn't believe how self centered people are

Volunteering is a very nice thing to do. I think that is a good age to do so. Is this something you normally do? Are you literally forcing them, or are they happy to do it?
