What happens when your rent goes up 350 bucks and you no longer make 4x the rent?

My rent was 700 a month and I had to make 4 times that a month to live there which wasnt an issue at all I had to make 2800 a month and I make 3500 a month.

They have now gone up to 1050 a month meaning I'm supposed to make 4200 to live there.

Can they evict me over that?

To clear things up, my lease is up. They are going up if I sign a new lease. All the apartments in the area are that expensive as well, I've looked, so it's pointless to move.

No where in my post or replies have I said anything about not paying my rent. Some of you read too much into my post. I CAN afford the rent.

They changed it in the middle of your lease?

 I doubt it..and thats a big hike.

Also, didnt you sign a lease? That lease is a contract. You should look it over, I dont think you should have a rate change mid lease.

Probably not since you're already a resident, but I'd start looking anyway

I have always heard rent should be 1/3 your income. If you cant pay yes they will evict you.
