Can't get the smell out of my hair!!!

So I have been batteling head lice with my 2 dd's for the past few months. They get it, I treat it, they go back to school and a month later they have it again. =/ well this past week they had it yet again and lucky me got it too! O_o So instead of buying a bunch of lice shampoo treatments, (Me & my youngest dd have to have 2 bottles b/c our hair is long and thick) I treated it with listerine and it worked wonders!!! I was really amazed! But the bad thing is the smell from the listerine is still in our hair. :(

Any suggestions to get the smell out?

Maybe wash it daily? It will wear out.

No idea but how did you use the listerine? Just wash your hair with it or put it in your hair and let it sit? Every time we see my niece my kids always get lice and they are going to be seeing her for Christmas so I guess I should prepare myself.

1 mom liked this
Oh and put TONS of hairspray in your children's hair and in a ponytail if you can. My mom dealt with this when I was in 6th grade and that's the only thing that kept me from getting it again.

Psh, it'll wash out eventually.  tell people you use a mint shampoo or something if they ask.  ;)

I am so afraid my son will get lice. I put gel in his hair every day.

Vinegar works for killing lice too, if it should come back in the future.
