If you spank, at what age do you think is appropriate?

If you don't, how do you discipline your kid(s)?

My toddlers get a swat on the bum. The older kids aren't spanked and my babies aren't, either.

I don't spank, we use positive reinforcement.

I don't spank. I have a child with special needs and I don't want him to learn violence.

in our house spanking is a last resort punishment. if timeouts, extra chores and cleaning up outside dont do the trick then is a spanking ull get, but at the age of 7, DD has only ever had like 4 spankings (and i can honestly say she deserved every one of them)

We try to use it as a last resort, or only if DS does something serious. Like trying to run away in a parking lot--yeah, he only did that once. He learned his lesson quick. Mostly we will give choices "will you listen or have a time-out?" and he chooses to do the right thing. or he gets a time out.

We don't spank. We give time outs or we take something away for a few days.

I spank, I'm not ashamed, I will not have a child out of control, you don't listen you get spanked, you back talk you get spanked, you hurt your siblings out of anger you get spanked, ( I know spanking for them hitting contradicts its self but I will not allow them to hit because there mad)

I don't abuse my kids. I parent them and teach them right from wrong instead of beating them in to submission. It's harder of course but I'd rather raise decent human beings than be lazy.
