Adults on Medicaid?

I always thought Medicaid was for the elderly or children. I guess I'm wrong since there's a post about an adult on Medicaid. What? How do adults even get on it?!

I always confuse Medicaid and Medicare, it's possible that person is the same way. Or the person may get some form of social security. In many states that's automatic Medicaid.

Income based. From what I hear, you have to have little to no income to get it as an adult.

Medicaid is for poor people. In some states, people of any age can get it. Medicare is for Elderly and Disabled.

Medicaid is for kids, pregnant women, and extremely low income parents. Many states also have a reproductive-only medicaid program with higher income limits.

In my state as long as you have 47% custody of a child and your income qualifies the child for state medical, the parent also gets it
