Is it wrong to give a teacher a bottle of wine or something along those lines in a gift bag as a gift?? I'm tired of mugs and pens and that stuff. I was thinking a restaurant gift card and maybe a bottle?? Yay - Nay?

No, not unless you can give it to them away from school. They would be fired for having it and you could be fined or arrested for bringing it into the school.

I doubt they will go that far, let's be serious. However I do agree that it is probably not a good idea.

I wouldn't. What about sparkling cider, though? Or a bag of coffee beans?

I gave my daughter's grade 1 teacher a gift basket with chocolates, cheese and wine from me and a mug with green tea from my daughter. She loved them both, sent us both "thank you" cards.

I don't see the problem.

No, I wouldn't do that...the gift card is fine...but no wine.
