My niece is 9 1/2 and will be coming over Sunday for Christmas. I don't see her much and her parents never respond when I call or text so I have no idea what she likes. I know she likes to read but not sure what books she has or what she likes. What is a good gift for a 9 year old girl? I want to get her an actual gift not just a gift card or something.

I read a book that she would probably like. Let me go get my Kindle and see what the name of it is 'cause it's escaping me right now. Otherwise, I'd say some jewelry/a necklace from Avon or something would be good. It's nice looking stuff but not too costly.

The magic Tree house books are good for that age.

I found some today that I think I am going to get my 9.5 year old. They are "create your own adventure" books. The children can somehow choose to read the books in a way that they can get different endings. They looked really neat. They are chapter books and I thought they would be fun.
