I am in school. I took 18 credits this semester that just ended. DH took 12 (which is the min for full time status). I am taking 19 next semester. The great thing is this is 2012, not 1980, so we have ONLINE CLASSES through local schools. Most community colleges have online classes if not online degrees. I have yet to find a big 4 year school without online degrees. You used to have to go in for classes but now you can do them at 3 am in your living room AND STILL GRADUATE FROM A GOOD LOCAL SCHOOL. Even public speaking is now online.
Last semester I had 4 total campus visits for exams. This next semester I already spoke to my instructor and I have 6 on campus visits required. So yes, somehow I can magically come up with childcare for 2-3 hours on 6 different days over 16 weeks.
And with pell grants community college is totally covered for most low income adults...
When I'm at school, my husband, he is off work by then, right now I'm on maternity leave, when I go back my son will go to his sitters, she is the same person who babysat my other son before he reached school age and is also my boss. I work in a diner as a waitress, the owner of the diner lives in an apartment above the diner, she babysits there and in return, I babysit her daughter for an equal amount of time, so our childcare is free.
I work full time from 8am to 4pm. Hubby works 4pm to midnight. we both work for the same company. We have 2 in school during the day and 1 that isnt quiet old enough. So it is always one of us that is watching our kids.
my DH would watch the kids or my MIL or my Aunt, or we have a sitter that we use...
I go to school online, so I'm always here with my kids...I'm the one who watches them, i'm the one who takes the older three to and from school. I do it all.
We aren't on any PA.
