Mom (me) says why bother? Dad says do it.

My SO thinks we should put a tree up and buy him some toys, spend about a hundred buck on just things that he could play with and maybe a few things like a walk and ride. I think doing Christmas is silly. He wont remember it and i don't even know how to introduce it. LIke how am I supposed to get him into it? Im not big on Holidays anyway since I just see crap, I used to be big on them but over the years I have grown to see the bad in it. I do want to try to get back into it as my son grows up but I don't think this year is important.

I say do nothing, dad says do something.

He may not remember it, but YOU will.
It's his first Christmas. Do something special.

You're being a grinch :) Compromise and do SOMETHING but dont go all out. At least a present or two. Then you can add more fun as your LO gets bigger. It needs no introduction--just hand LO a present and watch him have a blast tearing it open.

You don't need to go all out. You could get a little tree, some simple decorations, a few toys, and take lots of pictures.

its shiney and little ones at that age love the lights etc.  Plus if you do nothing then you miss out on those memories.  Most adults I know still have something from their first christmas at their parents house (moms like to save these) lol.

If it were me I would do it, but only you and your SO can make that decision for your family.

My dd was 10 months old for her first Christmas. We put up a tree and bought her gifts. She might not remember it but I do. It is one holiday I could not wait for when I was pregnant with her.

I, without a doubt, agree with the dad.
