Is this enough for my 4-year-old?

Last year I went all out for Christmas. It was a little obnoxious.

This year my daughter has bought in to the whole consumerist, character brand want-want-want belief system. I realize this is my fault and I have since disconnected our cable account.

I'm toning it down for Christmas this year and want it to be about the experience more than the gifts.

I have about 12 random stocking stuffers for her.
An art set on sale at Michael's.
2 used games from Goodwill.
About 5 boxes (flat clothing gift boxes) of clothes from Goodwill.
An apron and chefs hat I'm glitzing up with patches, buttons, and jewel-type things.
A log-cabin dollhouse made from wood from my own property.

Is this enough for a kid who asks for EVERYTHING in the toy aisles for Christmas?

Any gifts are fine.  Christmas is about more than presents.

I just don't want her to be disappointed.

Sounds great to me. That's really cool that you made a dollhouse- I wish I was that crafty.

Sure, it is a lot more then my 6 year old is getting. As for her being disappointed, oh well, if she is. She is 4 and will have a lot of disappointments in her life. Now is the time to put a stop to the selfishness before she gets to be a teen.
