This is what a boy told my 10y/o DD today at school. The teacher heard it and sent the boy to the office. What 10y/o says that to another 10y/o?

My DD said the boy returned a little while later. I have emailed the teacher.

From Teacher...
Yes, x (Boy in class) did in fact tell x (my DD) that he wished she was killed in the shooting. It was awful to hear and I did send him down to the office. There is a police officer on school property as a precautionary and X spoke with him. X was allowed to return to the classroom to collect his belongs and will not be able to return to the school until after the holiday break. This was a serious matter and the school handled it as a threat. As you know X X (name of DDs school) has a zero tolerance policy and try to handle all issues accordingly. Please let us know if you have any questions.

This is why I don't think kids should have been told about this. they are simply not emotionally able to process it all seriously.

Oh man, kids that young do say bad things...I remember middle school, kids are CRUEL.  But of course, since this is after the mass shooting, it will be taken more seriously.

Kids say stupid things because they don't really understand.
