Holy sh**, an allergic reaction to my underwear?!

I bought a new package of underwear, washed them, and put a pair on today. I noticed that where the band hit my skin around the leg holes was a little itchy after a few hours. I took them off a bit ago to get into the shower and it was like peeling off a bandaid. My skin is all red and raw, almost little blisters, just where the bands touched my skin. WTF? Has that every happened to you with a piece of clothing? The elastic looks like it is covered with the same fabric that the rest of the underwear is made out of. I am pretty sure I have bought this brand before too.

Have you changed detergent? Could you have a yeast infection?

My aunt is allergic to latex and she found out about it when she got a pack of undies. It can still happen even if you washed the first.

Nope, same detergent and the only spot that is raw is where the bands around the legs touched my skin. Just a skinny stripe around both legs, nothing else.

You are allergic to the elastic.

Aw. :(

As the others have said, perhaps it's the latex used in the elastic around the legs/tummy.

Hmm, that could be. I can't wear latex gloves. Maybe there is latex in the elastic and it bothered me even though it was covered with fabric.

The company could have changed their elastic for one with more latex.
