Religion in school

I am pist because I am tired of religious holidays being celebrated in schools. It always involves candy and parties. My kids are going to school because it it law for them to learn. If they miss too much I can go to jail. So my d student is going to parties and celebrating holidays in school instead of learning. Yesturday. She really learned how to open a now and later wrapper. I never buy her that so I didn't teach her how to open it.

They had a party yesturday and again today. Every time I turn around its another party. Once a month to celebrate everyone's birthday that month. They are always bringing home bags of candy. We also spend a lot of time each night on homework. I'm starting to wonder why so much needs to be done at home and how much time all these parties actually take.

That 2 hour holiday party has NOTHING to do with the D. That D is from bad parenting the other 179 school days.

So why not discuss it with the teacher and/or principal? What grade is she in?

Yeah, the candy and parties aren't religion based.  It's a "Winter Party".
