Kids On the computer unsupervised...

At what age did you leave your kids to use the computer unsupervised? What age did you let them have computers in their own rooms? If they have their own ipads do you let them on there unsupervised?. I don't know how to activate the parental controls on the ipads, it seems to never go through so I am afraid to let my kids get on there unsupervised.

Our kids know what sites they are allowed and not allowed to go to. The younger 2's computer is in the dining room. Our 14 yo has a computer in his room. He knows what he is allowed to do and not do.

Mine are on it all the time unsupervised.

They're 8, almost 6, and almost 3.

We have adblock and it's quite efficient, I've never seen a porn popup or even distasteful ads since installing it.

We don't have net nannies, trackers, or keyloggers either.

I've looked at the history my 8 year old generates before though. Lots of real dangerous sites... like neopets and young rider and daily-puppy.

well my daughter was able to use her internet on her phone unsupervised until i realize she was going into social networking group without our premission, so now she has lost her phone and when she gets it back her internet will be blocked. They are getting tablets for christmas it has internet on it but i am considering putting the parental controls on it.
