Physically punish, I agree.

But I disagree for other forms of punishment.

Your cps worker is an idiot. My house rule for kids is my house my rules. Break the rules and there will be a punishment fitting of the offense.

I think that depends.... If they are part time in your home, every other weekend than no as long as they mind you however if they are full time and/or always with the SP then they should be disciplined. Otherwise they will get away with murder!!!

i wish my ex didnt punish mine...but then he was abusive...if they have a relationship with the child i dont see why they shouldnt disciplin them but i really think there needs to be a foundation first...if that makes sense.

Um... no. How will they ever respect you if you don't show them that you won't tolerate them crossing boundaries.

A lot of people really feel that way. I punish my step-daughter if/when she needs it.

I thnk it depends on the relationship between the step-parent and the step-child. I've been in SD's life since she was 1 1/2, she's now 12 1/2. DH is the custodial parent and works 55 hours a week. I'm certainly not going to make a big long list of all of her "crimes" during the day to give to my husband at the end of the day when he gets home. She's going to get in trouble as it happens the same as the rest of the kids.
