I think Cafemom should.....

Posted by   + Show Post
Make a CafeDad! Ive been wanting to make this post but been too lazy. Since it looks like the topic of today is why dads aren't allowed to join, I guess Ill go ahead and give my opinion.

I think they should make a CafeDad and have a button where it says "share post with cd" or have a group/forum where we can go and share post with the dads, but still keep them out of our main site. It would be like a tunnel to two different villages where we can meet in the middle and exchange goods. I think it would be great if we wanted a honest male opinion without having to guess what WE "think" goes on in their manly mind. So what do you guys think? Would you be willing to share a few post with dads if there was a button that gave you that option?? Is it a good idea? A bad idea? Any suggestions that could make this idea better?
And on the bright side maybe we could diminish the numbers of pervs....

Excellent point. Lol.

Oh for sure....but this would be a sight for dads. Thats not something many guys bond over. Men aren't like women. A cafedad would get some use, but it wouldn't be enough use to where it would be as profitable as cafemom. There would only be a handful of men devoted to cafedad, and it wouldn't be enough. Its a nice a idea, but it wouldn't really fly like cafemom. And more than likely, cafedad would be overrun by women with their questions for men posts...lol.

As uncondescendingly as possible,

Obviously you don't venture about the web much. Trust me, just because our SO's don't post on Dad sites...

There are gamer forums, porn forums, fishing forums, political forums, restaurant forums, porn forums, food forums, music forums, humor forums...etc so forth that men frequent.

9gag, reddit, 4chan, N4G, Wired, IGN, Kotaku, DeviantArt...etc so forth. I know MANY guys who frequent socially geared sites. I can't argue and say that most of the crowd CafeDad would draw wouldn't man it up...but there are plenty of dad bloggers...I think CafeDad would have as broad of a fan base as CafeMom.

Quoting Bauxite-17:

Although its a nice idea...I doubt it would get much use. Men don't come on the web to complain about their love lives or to share cassorole recipies with each other. It just really wouldn't work out...

That's ridiculous.

If they did that, who'd take care of the children?!

There are tons of horny perverts that will take advantage of the idea of women being responsive and use it to hit on and talk nasty. I have had little luck with guys on a social network that can keep his penis in his pants.

I don't see that as working out.  I know there is no point since we became parents were DH would have joined such a website.  He doesn't ask strangers for advice....especially not advice on parenting or marriage.  He will only discuss those things with people he knows and trusts.

Nope, unless the only person with the option to share is the OP.

Way more men blog now than ever before. I think men are coming out from that enclosed macho shell and sharing their feelings a lot more. Yes.. maybe their post wont be as detailed as ours (because men dont care for details) but do you honestly think that men never wonder about their sex life or relationship like us? That were the only ones worried about not being good enough or making our s/o happy. There are men who need to express these feelings and ask questions, learn and take advice from others just like us. They're not entirely empty heartless monsters. ;)

Quoting kmorales7690:

It wouldn't be that interesting. Males don't have the genetic catty makeup women do that makes all the drama. And let's be honest that is what keeps this site running.
