Deploying husband... :(

He is ex military and got a job as a contractor in afghanistan. He applied a while ago and we just got word that he was accepted and they want to deploy him to afghanistan soon. The thing is I don't know what to do to prepare for this. We live states away from any family or friends and I have no one out here. When he comes back he is going to come back to this state for his job so me moving back to our home state and leaving our house would be kind of pointless. I'm just worried and confused. He was deployed a total of 15 months when he was in the military but I didn't even meet him until he came home so this is my first one.

We have a family vacation home back home I could stay in but it has no Internet (for us to Skype) so that's a major concern :/

Advice/support needed :(

Why not leave temporarily and/or as often as you can?

do what is best for your family when considering where you want to stay. take one day at a time and stay busy. My dh leaves next friday and will be gone for at least a year.

To where though? I'd go to the vacation house but there is no Internet and crappy cell reception. I can't miss phone calls and video chats with him :/

Family's house in the other states? I don't know how all this works, sorry. :( I can't imagine how hard it will be.

wives move home all the time for deployments, even for 9 months.
