WHY the hell do they play so much spongebob?!?

Posted by Anonymous   + Show Post
Every single say for HOURS?! I really hate the show and only allow them I watch maybe 1 or 2 episodes but every single day they play spongebob for about 5 hours straight and the kids beg and beg. DON'T they have anything else to play on TV?! That's just ridiculous!

I like sponge on but no way my kids are allowed to watch it. But I haven't watched it in a long time bc we don't have cable. One of the perks, I suppose.

Ratings. Nick needs ratings.

If they have 96 iCarly episodes and they showed 5 hours per day, you'd cover the whole series every other week and you'd super hate iCarly. At least SpongeBob has ~180 episodes and you can join them any point in the episode and still be slightly amused.

What would you have Nick play all day that will keep viewers watching? SpongeBob applies to everyone. They lose half their viewers to shows like TMNT and Power Rangers and KungFu Panda. They lose most of their viewers when crap like Winx Club comes on. So they play SpongeBob

SpongeBob is not meant to be educational. It is there for entertainment. The target audience is 5-10 I'd guess. There is plenty of educational value to SpongeBob though.

- SpongeBob has a great work ethic.

- SpongeBob is a fiercely loyal friend.

- SpongeBob will try and try again and does not give up easily.

- SpongeBob has an attitude of gratitude.

- SpongeBob lives an honest life.

- SpongeBob stands up to bullies and doesn't let them get him down.

I really don't see the negative in SpongeBob.

Quoting aschilt:

I feel spongebob doesn't educate like children's shows should
