What would you do with $5000 a week for life? ETA...

Posted by   + Show Post
I would still live in a house that was modest but had space for my girls to have their own rooms and a large fenced yard for them and the pup to play in. There's only one thing I'd splurge on.

I would eat out literally every day except for holidays when I actually like to cook traditional meals.

ETA...If you could give $5000 a week to someone else, who would you choose and why? If we are allowed to divide the prize I think I would have to choose my parents because they always take care of others and my mom is on disability and my dad should be able to retire already. The other half would go to my in-laws because I would love if my MIL could just quit her job and live well for once in her life. She has always volunteered either in church or her community center with kids of questionable background. She never takes for herself and gives as much as she can. I don't care about FIL one bit but I know it's a package deal if I give to MIL.

Get a wheelchair accessible house, pay off debt, go back to school, start caregivers fund for my youngest and college funds for my older two.

We have actually talked about this. We would build a very nice, but fairly mid-sized house (more quality), buy nicer cars, still work, but maybe not something so demanding, travel, put more away for dd s college...I think that was it.

buy a house for me and my family, buy one for each of my sisters, one for ,my adoptive parents, and one for my brother that way we can all live in the same neighborhood, set up college funds for my dd and my nieces and nephews, a new reliable car, pay off all debts, get a head on bills, buy some new appliances, a vacation or 2 a year for my family, and put at least $2500 a month into a savings acct for emergancies and such, and another $2500 a month into a retirement fund for me and dh

My husband would stop working, and we would try to salvage our marriage. We would also pay the house off and get nicer cars. Other than that we would just live life like we are right now.

I'd buy a nice house in my moms neighborhood (houses range from 125k to 300k.) And I'd at least pay my moms mortgage.

What's a caregivers fund? (Excuse me if that's a dumb question ).

Quoting Jenniy:

Get a wheelchair accessible house, pay off debt, go back to school, start caregivers fund for my youngest and college funds for my older two.

I'd buy a bigger house in the country, room for each of our kids. 2 better working vehicles. Then I'd repay my parents back for everything they've for me and my kids. Then I'd start saving for my kids college. I'd get caught up or pay off my bills then Save Save Save.
