How can you check your own cervix for dilation? Is everyone's fingers long enough to check?

you will only introduce germs, and it doesn't matter if you are dilated or not, until you are in labor baby is coming when he/she decides!

So why not have your Doctor do it??? Would you even know what you were trying to find??
