Do You Have A Special Dinner That You Make On New Years Day

My moms family is from the country, so we always had some kind of pork, collard greens and kale mixed together. Turnips, black eyed peas, mashed potatoes and gravy and corn bread. It's supposed to be for health, wealth and wisdom. I don't think it worked, because I don't have any of those things lol.

No not really a dinner. We just have cheese &crackers, veggie tray, stuffed mushrooms, meatballs, mini sandwiches, chips and dip. Stuff like that. This is New Year's Eve.

Its different every year BUT this year I'm making Roast Pork Loin, Collard Greens, Black Eyed Peas, Stuffed Clams,Stuffed Mushrooms, Corn, Cornbread...thats all I have so far

Nothing really filling. We usually make Oliver salad, eat cheese with bread, lox and sprots (I don't know what they are called in English), and have caviar with wine and then champagne.

Unfortunetly, I won't get to enjoy that this year as I am celebrating it at my house instead of my moms. But we're getting together New Years day and eating dinner then.

Yes I always have a special dinner and it varies every year. It all depends on what restaurant my husband takes me too because it's my birthday ...

Pork and sauerkraut,kielbasa, hot dogs, dumplings, mashed potatoes and applesauce :) I will put it on at 12 pm NYE and we will eat it at 11 pm NYE and for dinner new years day :)

Pittsburgh tradition is pork roast with sauerkraut and hot dogs with mashed potatoes...it's bad luck not to have pork on New Years!

LOL My birthday is the day before New Years Eve on December 30. I don't like to go out, because my husband loves to go out for New Years Eve. I don't like going out two days in a row anymore so I go out for New Years Eve for him. We stay home for my birthday.
