Pittsburgh girl here too. Our dinner was the same!

Quoting BelleVernonGirl:

Pittsburgh tradition is pork roast with sauerkraut and hot dogs with mashed potatoes...it's bad luck not to have pork on New Years!

haha i know im reading all of these responces and thinking this is sooo weird! i thought everyone had pork sauerkraut and potatoes!! makes sence that its a PA thing though since I'm in PA and everyone I know has pork and sauerfraut for new years!! Its good luck!!

Quoting Cymbeline:

I'm from Pennsylvania, so the tradition is pork, sauerkraut, and mashed potatoes.

NYE always involves piles of seafood. Tonight, I made lobster, shrimp, scallops, mussels, crab, and a pasta side.
