Homemade broccoli and cheese soup, black eyed peas seasoned with bacon. I've made this every year for 15 years ;o)

Yes...it may sound weird, but we usually have Cornish hens (because they're sort of fancy and one of our favorites), blackeyed peas (for luck), some kind of potato, and cornbread (because it goes well with black eyed peas).
