I do a champagne breakfast of eggs benedict and orange juice with champagne for the whole family.

Special treats.

My grandma always said you eat oysters on new years for good luck throughout the year. I like oysters but never had them on new years.

That's different, I might have to steal the idea! Its time to start a New Years tradition in my family.

I would like to start my own traditions too. That would be nice.

Is that for NYE or New Year's Day?

Pittsburgh tradition is pork roast with sauerkraut and hot dogs with mashed potatoes...it's bad luck not to have pork on New Years!

That's what my mom always said.

Every party has a pooper, that's why we invited you! Party Pooper!

Seriously, if you don't want to answer, just skip over this post.

I don't think that's any business of yours if I do or not.

....rape greens?

Quoting abernathyvanna:

Yea... Greens (boiled together- rape greens, turnip and collard- then fried in lard), Pork Chops, Black Eyed peas and potatoes (usually mashed)...

Typical in this area... Very unhealthy but a tradition.

Mmm well when I lived in Canada my parents an I would always do a fondue night.

I've since moved to the US and my husband told me about having black eyed peas and pork for good luck. Never heard of that before so, we're having schnitzels, mashed potatoes, boiled cabbage and black eyed peas :)
