Mom Confessions Mom Confessions

I was shocked when I looked at my huband's statement and saw he had over 60k pulled out of his check in 2012

Of course this includes TAXES(a lot) retirement, and health care(10 k a year). On top of that we pay out 6k in school/property taxes which is actually low.  This proves that those making between 100k and 200 k( we fall in somewhere inbetween that) are the real tax payers in this country.  Anyone else out there have that much pulled out or more?

Yup.  It hurts.  And yet they want to tax us more.  Don't tell me I'm not paying my fair share.

Retirement and health care is your benefit. What's the issue? We pay a ton of taxes too on health insurance but you don't see me complaining about it because I know it is for our well being same with putting money into savings and trust fund for our children so they can be set up for college and beyond.

We average about $35K annually in taxes with a base pay of $92K annually.  His bonus' usually averages $10K and we see about 40% up front.  So, that would be an additional $6K that goes towards taxes.  So $41K on average.

I would have to really sit down and figure mine out.  My base pay is $1000 a month, I see about $800.  So $2400 a year in taxes.  I only work part time from home for money we use towards doing fun things as a family.

Yeah, and it sucks.  We're paying $850 a month in health care alone.

Oh boo hoo.  If you don't know what tax bracket you're in, you're a damn fool.

So? He has a decent job, and is paying taxes, which is what we do, and paying for health care and retirement, which are benefits. Why is this so shocking?

Americans still have it easy compared internationally.

We have 6 figures taken out and we still owe at the end of the year.
