Does anyone actually raise their own kids anymore? EDIT

Seriously...it seems like most parents are paying someone else to watch their kids for them! Whether it be daycare, a nanny, or an au pair.
What is the point in having children if you work all the time and pay someone else to raise your kids? Do you really think that is good for them?
Obviously people need to work, but why not get a job with a flexible schedule before you have a child?
Let me be more clear: I am specifically talking about two parent households. I see sooo many kids who are in full time daycare that really don't need it. It takes a long time to have a child, therefore, plenty of time to sort out schedules so that one parent can always be home with the child.
There is a big difference between part time childcare and full time childcare.
I am talking about two parent households that put all of their children in full time daycare. I'm talking like 12 hours a day! Daycare is ridiciliously expensive so it seems like one parent's income would go towards paying daycare fees anyways. I just don't understand that.
My shitty daycare only cares for my child while I work to put food on the table and a roof over his head
Apparently I have been doing it wrong!
You're preaching to the choir. That's why I've WFH for the last 8 years. ;-)

Popcorn anyone?
My kids have never been in daycare, and have only been taken care of by me, SO and family...and we both work...
