keep my DD in a rear-facing car seat?

She will be 11 months on Jan. 8th

my mom says she is ready now but I disagree. She is just getting a lil too big for the carrier she has now.

I just want her as safe as possible

They recommend until at least the age of two.

It is 20lbs AND 1 year. However they are now recommending you go to age 2. But that is just a recommendation for now.

Until she has outgrown the rear facing  limits. At least until age two. My daughter is fifteen months and still rear facing although legally I can front face her. It is SO much safer to rear face.

Look at the instruction booklet with your seat. It should say what the weight and height limit is for rear facing.

We rf to 4 years or the max rf weight limit on our seat, 45lbs. Kids are 5x safer rf than ff. It's a simple way to keep your little ones much, MUCH safer and doesn't cost extra. The minimum law is 1 year AND 20lbs, the new recommendation is 2 years. Idk about you, but I don't parent by minimums. I go with best practice wherever possible. :)
