Prince William police officer killed in motorcycle crash; was responding to another accident

By Associated Press, Published: DECEMBER 31, 4:53 PM ET

BRISTOW, Va. —Prince William County police say an officer has died after his motorcycle struck a minivan in Bristow.

The crash occurred around 2 p.m. Monday. Police say 35-year-old Officer Chris Yung was on his way to the scene of another accident and was heading south on Nokesville Road when his motorcycle struck the minivan, which was making a left turn into a shopping center. Yung was taken to a hospital, where he died. No one else was injured.

Officer Jonathan Perok, a police spokesman, says the details of the crash remain under investigation.

Yung was a 7-year veteran of the department and worked for the traffic unit.

Well the minivan driver failed to to yield to the right a way of a emergency vehicle and a few others...

My dad is a lawyer and he said that the driver will most likely be charged with "vehicle manslaughter, failure to yield to the right of way and failure to yield to a emergency vehicle"

It sounds like the van turned on front of him. There's a lot of violations there on the van's part (failure to yield to an emergency, failure to yield to oncoming traffic).
