Yes. You can do cervical checks for birth control too, along with charting. Why would you do that? Because the position of your cervix, how open it is, and your cervical fluid can let you know how fertile you are.

When I'm pregnant my cervix is somewhat soft and my cervical fluid is creamy.
I recommend charting as well-the full experience of charting and cervical checks is what helped us conceive after trying for over a year.
