Do you flush your tampons? **ETA**

Posted by Anonymous   + Show Post

If you use them of course. My aunt said i couldnt when i lived with her because she was on septic. Then i just read in the "embarassing" post about a stray tampon that landed on the floor after missing the trash. I didnt know people threw them in the garbage.

The box says not to flush the applicator.

I have not had my toilet clog in 17 years of living on my own from flushing tampons. Not saying it doesnt happen, just hasnt happened to me.

I don't at home because we have private septic, and I've been told by a septic guy not to flush tampons. I am guilty of flushing them if I'm out in public sometimes, but usually I throw them away because it's habit.

I don't flush them. I wrap them in some toilet paper and throw them away. I put the applicator back into the  sleeve it came out of and toss it,

I never thought you were suppose to flush them..

No they go in the garbage...I don't want them clogging the toilet or ruining our septic system.

Same here

Quoting heresjohnny:

I have a septic, so no. Even if you don't have a septic though, they can get caught in the lines and cause damage to your plumbing.

Yes, but they did clog the toilet and make it over flow once, because the toilet neck was too narrow. We got a new toilet and I still do it.

We have a septic and I flush them. I don't want my son or dog getting ahold of used ones. YUCK!
