Do you flush your tampons? **ETA**

Posted by Anonymous   + Show Post

If you use them of course. My aunt said i couldnt when i lived with her because she was on septic. Then i just read in the "embarassing" post about a stray tampon that landed on the floor after missing the trash. I didnt know people threw them in the garbage.

The box says not to flush the applicator.

I have not had my toilet clog in 17 years of living on my own from flushing tampons. Not saying it doesnt happen, just hasnt happened to me.

I used to until my sister, who does not have a septic tank had her toilet overflow.  The plumber that came out said it was from flushing tampons.

No. You're never supposed to flush a tampon. Hell, it even says it on the box!

Sometimes, DH yells at me that they will clog the pipes though.

I dont flush baby wipes or paper towels, but i do flush my tampons. I had never heard of throwing them out. I dont think wrapping, bagging and going out to the garbage everytime i change my tampon is my thing. Ill keep flushing them.

No,

Wrap them in tissue, place them in a bag, & take them out to the garbage can.

You don't flush baby wipes or paper towels, what makes you think a tampon can make it to freedom?

oh god no! never.. they would clogg up the plumbing! i dont wear them but sil does and she has flushed a few down my toilet and every time we have to grab the plunger and wire hanger.. drives me insane.. wrap it up in tissue and trash it.. i dont even let people flush pee tissue in my toilet.. flush your crappy tissue only! thats why there is a garbage basket! .. and aside from the tampon thing.. every one that comes over even if they are new.. for the most part every one in my area know the "tissue rule".. cuz every one lives in apartments so every one has the same rule
