Do you flush your tampons? **ETA**

Posted by Anonymous   + Show Post

If you use them of course. My aunt said i couldnt when i lived with her because she was on septic. Then i just read in the "embarassing" post about a stray tampon that landed on the floor after missing the trash. I didnt know people threw them in the garbage.

The box says not to flush the applicator.

I have not had my toilet clog in 17 years of living on my own from flushing tampons. Not saying it doesnt happen, just hasnt happened to me.

Yes, unless I'm in a public restroom where there's a sign saying not to.

I don't flush mine. My parents septic system backed up when I was in hs and it was 8k to fix and tampons can be a root of that problem so I wrap them up and throw them away

No never. Always wrap them in tissue and put them in the garbage by the end of the day I take it out the garbage.

I haven't used tampons in over a year and a half.. But I was sure I had read not to flush then

Quoting KelissaMaye:

No. You're never supposed to flush a tampon. Hell, it even says it on the box!
