In general, the closer to bone, the more it will hurt, but that is a fairly popular spot so it can't be that bad!

the advice I will give you is to make sure it isn't placed too close to those wrinkles in your wrist where the skin bends... Mine is too close, and I have scarring... The colors got messed up too

I have an ankle (inner) tattoo and it felt like a brush burn as I was getting it. I wouldn't say it was pain persay but more an irritation. Trust me, once you get one you will want another one.
