Because you'll look sexier without a cigarette in your hand.

For your health, and the health of your children. I know it's hard, but keep remembering that. Try to keep yourself busy, and make up a routine that involves doing something with your hands (sewing, crafts etc) during the times you would normally take a smoke break. Don't eat licorice and all that, it will make you want to eat more (hand to mouth motion like with cigs) and that's when you gain the weight. Gum works...sugar free gum. Exercise helps too. It took a nightmare to scare the crap outta me, I had it July 17th 2011, I stopped smoking the morning of the 18th and never picked it back up, don't even have the urge to anymore but that took a few months to shake. My family members died younger from it, youngest being almost 40, which is pretty young in my mind, my grandparents and their siblings are all in their lates 80's and just starting to pass on. But the 40 yr old left behind a 2 yr old daughter.  It'll be hard, I won't lie, fight it and keep your hands busy, it works :) Good luck hun!

Best advice I got: expect it to be hard.

Most ppl tend to revert to smoking, b/c they weren't clear about this. Or were not willing to accept this & more importantly did not plan for this.

Think about it: most ppl who are smokers smoked when they are stressed.

Successful quitters make a plan for dealing with stress that works for them - several strategies for the different situations where you typically went for a smoke. For example, stressed at work: using the same amount of time it took for a smoke, put your earbuds in & listen to your favorite music. Try walking while you're doing this, & you get an endorphin boost from moving your body.

Another key area to consider replacement strategies for is social situaions - you don't have to feel left out, just switch things up a little.

Smoking support groups are everywhere - online if not IRL - and most are free or reimbursed by your health care. Studies show getting support increases success rates for quitting.

Good luck, you can do it!

Healthiest habit to curb cravings, every time you get a really bad craving, drink a glass of water.

Keep yourself occupied with a new hobby during your usual smoke break times, it can be something as simple as doing a crossword puzzle or something as big as starting a new craft project or cleaning. Just something else, something new to occupy yourself during those times that you're used to smoking.

The first 2-3 weeks are the hardest, but once you're past that point you should do just fine. You'll start to notice the smell of smoke on others, you'll notice your house start to smell cleaner(even if you don't smoke indoors, the smell of smoke on clothing and in your hair permiates the air).
