Why is Everyone so pissed off about Food Stamps but Not Healthcare?

Posted by   + Show Post

how come everyone gets so pissy about food stamps but not pissy about people receiving FREE healthcare? I don't care the peolple who don't work get free food. Doesn't bother me one bit. What does bother me is that my husband works his ass of and we pay out the ass for healthcare each month and then on top of that each year and then each month for my prescribtions. But people who don't work, EVERY damn medical thing for free.

I work ... DH works and goes to school. But the rates my company offers for healthcare is so expensive (800+ for the cheapest family plan) that we wouldn't be able to live but we make too much for help from the state.... Makes me feel like the shittiest mom in the world that my kids don't have health insurance ATM... I'm working on it BUT....the bottom line is, I pray everyday they don't get sick right now. 4 years ago, I had the whole family insured for 250 a month... On the best plan , same company. Something has got to change in the health care system ( I don't know what) but its just getting ridiculous...

It is very easy to say that but would you still be so adament if you had a child that wracked up millions of dollars in medical bills? What should happen in a case like that? Should the child die because the parents have NO way to pay that kind of money? I guarantee you that you would be the FIRST one in line for Medicaid to get your child the care they need to save their life. Most of us do not have millions of dollars laying around in our bank accounts.

It happens all the time. We need to put the blame where it rightfully belongs.

Kool Smiles aka Small Smiles have lawsuits on them for Medicaid fraud. Speaking of hospitals, $750 to sit in an ER room for THIRTY minutes. That's $1500/hr just for the room!

Quoting T-HoneyLuv:

My son and many others NEED healthcare to survive. You should be angry at the Drs who committ Medicaid fraud, the insurance companies for their outrageous cost of medications, and the fact that a Dr or Hospital can charge 500.00 for a fucking finger stick blood test. There is SO much wrong with our healthcare system.

*shrug* all honesty I feel healthcare is a human right, and it shouldn't be at the cost of huge amounts of debt.

But food is a basic nessessacity, we need it to SURVIVE. we don't need healthcare to survive. Especially when some are going to ER to get a damn pregnancy test. or stupid little shit like that.

The fraud that goes on in both of those things pisses me off.

YES, docs and hospitals are to blame for scamming.  3000k for an MRI in the ER after a car accident.  35k for a less than a week stay in the hospital.  I even caught my dd's psych. scamming my insurance company .  Her dr. was charging for me and her, even though I was not a patient.  We have serious issues with healthcare in this country and the blame is on the entire medical community AND private insurance companies.

Lmfao you are a piece of work

Who says I've got money all like that?
There needs to be some type of repayment. It should not just be free.
Oh and BTW judgemental one, my dd has medicaid because my job doesn't offer medical, I get to be one of those uninsured because I make too much and still paying the "tax" for not having it. Ya know why? So that the shit can stay free. It shouldn't be free. Nothing should be free.

Calm down. Thank you for the compliment as I am an AMAZINGLY AWESOME piece of work. You sound awfully judgemental yourself. I was making a point but clearly your hostility has blinded you from seeing that. The whole point was that most people " don't all have money like that ". Medicaid is not just a free ride. We have co pays for my son and some of his prescriptions are not covered at all.

I'm not judgemental. You assumed I or the poster below me was a welfare basher looking down on the poor. I've been on the full system and now all we have is Medicaid for the reason previously stated. You have copays, so clearly yours isn't free. However, yes Medicaid is a free ride for many.
