Daughters touching

My daughter just turned 8 and seems to be always touching herself when she watches tv or is just sitting in the car, is this normal?

I have two girls, and I can't tell you how many times I've said, " Please get your hand out of your vagina. If you want to touch it, you need to do it privately in your room."

She is just exploring herself. Talk with her about it and say she shouldn't do it in public but don't make her think it is bad she needs to learn to be proud of her body and it is nothing to be ashamed of. But there is times when it is not appropriate. Later when you give her the sex talk do the same about making sure he understands it is not bad

She's 5. I have no clue what she does it for.

This is normal and honestly usually happens earlier. It feels good and they don't know it's "wrong." You may want to make sure she doesn't have a yeast infection or something like that, like if it's itchy but more likely than not it feels good, it's different and hey...

I believe she just may be at the age of exploring..... but just talk to her and let her know that's its really inappropriate
